Even though Patrick Mahomes is a two-time NFL MVP and three-time Super Bowl MVP at the age of 28, he has not stopped increasing his arsenal of tricks. Recently, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback tired out a baseball-style knuckleball in training.

A video from day 2 of the three-day minicamp at the Chiefs facility in Kansas City shows Mahomes trying out something completely different. He already is the master of every textbook and unorthodox throws known to a quarterback but that doesn’t mean he would stop experimenting.

During throwing drills, Mahomes mixed things up by trying to imitate MLB side San Diego Padres’ Matt Waldron. Waldron is famous for his knuckleballs.

However, his biggest mistake was trying to copy Waldron’s skill with a football instead of a regular baseball. Mahomes lined up for the throw, but his posture was a complete mess while releasing the ball.

As a matter of fact, Waldron is a massive Chiefs fan. Even though he hails from Nebraska, the 27-year-old pitcher grew up watching the Kansas City franchise.

Waldron would hardly be the only baseball player Patrick Mahomes looked up to while growing up. The son of former Mets player Pat Mahomes idolized Yankees legend Derek Jeter as a kid.

Patrick Mahomes watched the Dallas Mavericks lose to the Boston Celtics again

Mahomes’ presence for the Dallas Mavericks had proved fruitful in the past. The NBA Western Conference champions were in desperate need of some luck after losing the first two games against the Boston Celtics.

The 11-time NBA champions proved the doubters wrong by shutting down former star player Kyrie Irving. Only Luka Doncic provided any hope for the Mavs.

Yet it was more of the same at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. An eager Patrick Mahomes sat on the sidelines praying his favorite team could gain some momentum in the tie, but the Celtics were hungrier.

Irving’s 20 and Doncic’s 17 points gave Mavs a slender 51-50 lead in the first half. For the Celtics, it was star player Jason Tatum leading the charge alongside Sam Hauser and Al Horford. Tatum notched 20 by himself while Hauser and Horford contributed 9 and 8 points.

Despite adding 15 and 10 more to the total, Irving and Doncic failed to prevent another defeat as the Mavericks lost 99-106. Tatum finished with 31 points and Jaylen Brown scored 30. Mahomes left the game with a disappointing look on his face because he knew another loss meant the Celtics would lift their 12th Championship (the first time since 2008).
