I’ve known David, we used to spar by the way back when he was 12. The youngest super middleweight of all time. Yeah! we used to spar… I think he was eleven, about to turn twelve.

This fight disappointed a lot of people. They were just too friendly, man. There’s too much respect in there, Kamaru. Inside the cage, nobody wanted to necessarily lose to each other because they’re both trolls, that the fight just ended up… the fight was a snoozefest, Kamaru. I don’t know how else to say it.

Strickland does not have the reputation of being a fighter who puts on the most interesting fights. Nonetheless, UFC 302 impacted the career of both fighters.
