Max Holloway should replace Conor McGregor, claims Hall-of-Famer as UFC 303 presser leaves fear in fans

Conor McGregor‘s UFC return has more twists than a Hollywood thriller movie. After three years of hiatus, the ‘Notorious’ has decided to come back and fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303. However, things have not gone that smoothly. According to UFC veteran Chael Sonnen, Max Holloway might steal McGregor’s spot at UFC 303.

Recently, UFC fans were left disappointed after the Dublin press conference for UFC 303 was canceled. Later, Conor McGregor went on X to share his side of the story. While talking about the incident on the Good Guy Bad Guy show, Chael Sonnen revealed that McGregor will fight at UFC 303. However, according to Sonnen, Max Holloway would be the perfect replacement if that’s not the case.

I believe Conor is gonna be opposite Michael Chandler, I’m very confident in telling you that. However, if he’s not, Michael Chandler vs. Max Holloway for the BMF is the fight to book.

While Chandler vs. Holloway for the BMF might be a good substitution. It won’t have the same impact as a McGregor fight. After the humongous success of UFC 302, the promotion has already made big plans for UFC 303 which was expected to get a kickstart with a press conference at Dublin. 

The last time McGregor was at a press conference in Dublin it was nothing but madness. Ahead of his fight with Jose Aldo at UFC 189, McGregor and the Irish crowd put on a show in Dublin. While the UFC wanted to replicate that this time, it has not gone according to the plan. However, even if McGregor pulls out from UFC 303, that doesn’t mean the Irishman will be out of options. 

What are the possible title fights for Conor McGregor?

Conor McGregor is the biggest superstar in the history of UFC and despite his inactivity, many fighters have called him out for a potential fight. Three of them are title holders and include Max Holloway, Leon Edwards, and Islam Makhachev.

McGregor has also shared his intentions to fight for the welterweight title and also made a sneaky remark on Holloway’s BMF win. While he has not mentioned anything about fighting Makhachev, it won’t be surprising to see him do it in the future.
