Sean Strickland does not like a lot of things. He added the UFC judges to the list in a recent rant ahead of UFC 302. The former champion is going into a fight against Paulo Costa and he better win via knockout.

Sean Strickland recently sat down for a conversation with Daniel Cormier ahead of UFC 302. During their discussion on ‘DC’s YouTube channel, the former middleweight champion went on a rant on judges.

Dude, judges don’t give a f*** bro, look at judging like a lot of times, they don’t even watch the fight. They don’t give a f***, they’re just government officials just f****** collecting a paycheck.

‘Tarzan’ talked about bad judges who do not watch the fight and go off the output of other people watching the fight. Sean Strickland brought up Jared Cannonier and how he faced such a situation during their fight. Strickland and Cannonier headlined a main event showdown for UFC Fight Night back in 2022. He talked about how Cannoier would throw combinations, and Strickland would block every single one of them.

However, Cannonier’s corner would yell out comments like his punches were landing even though they were not. According to Strickland, judges listen to the corners as much as they deny it and it influences their decision. Strickland lost that fight against Cannonier by a split decision.

The UFC rankings are not easy to crack. Every fighter in the UFC roster is either trying to make it to the rankings or move his way up. Fighters call out or turn down opponents based on their divisional rankings. However, UFC middleweight, Strickland believes it is all a sham.

‘Tarzan’ recently talked about the UFC ranking system with Daniel Cormier in a segment of ‘Daniel Cormier Check-In’.

Rankings don’t matter you guys, its just dorks behind the computers. Ther is a spreadsheet…its all f****** analytics you guys, everything about this is analytics… its all what makes money.

Strickland acknowledged that there is wiggle room for merit and talent. However, he argued that a corporation’s biggest job is to maximize profits. It is an interesting take to hear from the former middleweight champion. Strickland himself ranks #14 on the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings and #1 in the UFC’s middleweight division.
