Islam Makhachev made an interesting proposal to Daniel Cormier. Being two high-level wrestlers in the sport of MMA, the lightweight champion had an offer for the former double champion.

Islam Makhachev recently sat down with Daniel Cormier for a conversation on Cormier’s YouTube channel. Before starting the ‘Daniel Cormier Check-In’ interview, Makhachev made Cormier an offer to make his son an incredible wrestler.

Brother, if you want your son, high-level wrestling. Send him two-three years Dagestan and forget.

Cormier was shocked by the three-year proposal Makhachev gave him. The Dagestani even added to it, saying Cormier could call his son every six months. ‘DC’ obviously declined the offer, firmly. From what he said in the video, he would send his son for two weeks maximum. Cormier’s son currently trains at the AKA where ‘DC’ serves as the assistant coach. He is only thirteen years old.

Reportedly, Frankie Edgar is sending his son to Dagestan too. Interestingly, Makhachev previously came in to train with the former UFC lightweight champion. His son had a session with Makhachev too, which Edgar uploaded on social media.

Daniel Cormier has three children, one son, and two daughters. Last year ‘DC’ made an appearance on the ‘Pivot Podcast’. He revealed a story of how he pushed a little girl down one time at an easter party because she pushed his son. Cormier said he was wired differently when fighting, which also affected his behavior outside the octagon.

Cormier had another story of when he challenged a father because his son was not behaving right. Cormier told him: “Hey, if your kid pushes my kid one more time, I’m going to push your a** down.’ He was like, ‘What?’ I was like, ‘Man, get your kid under control. If he pushes him one more time, I’m going to push you down’.”

Daniel Cormier’s overprotective nature stems from a tragic incident. He had lost a daughter back in 2003 in a very unfortunate accident. This was way before Cormier was a star UFC fighter and she was only three months old. This was before he was married to his current wife Salina Deleon who now mothers their three beautiful children.
