Conor McGregor transcended the sport of MMA. The Irishman is now a global icon with endeavors outside the sporting realm. Incredibly, everything McGregor has touched has turned to gold. Recently, McGregor became a part owner of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships (BKFC).
BKFC founder David Feldman revealed the news at the recent KnuckleMania press conference. McGregor also announced the good news via his social media. The addition of McGregor was to expand the business, and the Irishman has vowed to do it, as revealed in his interview with The MacLife.

The Irishman revealed that BKFC would return to Mexico in September for their first event in 5 years. He also revealed they had done a big TV deal in Mexico. Moreover, he stated the promotion has an event in Spain on July 19, coinciding with his birthday week.
UFC CEO Dana White had tried to buy the BKFC but failed. Mike Perry revealed White had a lowball offer that Feldman had no qualms about rejecting. With McGregor involved, BKFC’s notoriety will expand exponentially. However, the sport often faces criticism for health risks.
BKFC mourns the death of ex-UFC fighter
Ex-UFC fighter Geane Herrera suffered an untimely death due to a motorcycle accident. Herrera fought four times in the UFC, at flyweight. He sported a 1-3 record, only defeating Joby Sanchez. His losses were against top-tier competition – Ray Borg, Bi Nguyen, and Ali Bagautinov.

Herrera secured a second-round TKO victory against Velasquez. BKFC mourned the death of the ex-UFC ex-BKFC fighter through their official social media channels.
Herrera has a son, aged 17. Between his UFC and BKFC stint, the American fought once at ACB 85, where he defeated Darren Mima via submission. Before the UFC, Herrera had an undefeated professional MMA record. Moreover, he had a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt under Bill Banks.
Throughout his professional combat sports career, he never lost via finish. Despite the 1-3 record, he would’ve continued in the UFC but fought when the UFC planned to abolish the flyweight division due to the dominance of Demetrious Johnson.
