Even if the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end retired today, he would be honored among the NFL’s greats in Canton, Ohio. However, Travis Kelce is aiming higher than that and he most certainly does not wish to retire anytime soon.

The biggest motivation for Kelce, who is entering his 12th season in the NFL, is his thrive to break the league tight end’s record and establish his legacy just like a legend of another prominent sport, NBA icon Michael Jordan. During an exclusive interview with Zen Water, the three-time Super Bowl champion revealed his high aim for Jordan’s six championships, but in the NFL.

Give me as many rings as [Michael] Jordan’s got, baby.
Travis Kelce told ZenWTR

Jordan, who changed the game of basketball in his heyday days, led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s and established his legacy before trying out his hand in the NFL.

Kelce had a few words to say when asked how many Super Bowl milestones he wanted to achieve before retiring from the NFL.

Couple more Super Bowls. Three more? That’s what I’m talking about. I’ll take six.
Travis Kelce added

Even though the veteran tight end is from the rival sport of Jordan, he is truly inspired by the NBA legend and is aiming for a similar count of Super Bowl rings without even caring about his personal stats, as he claimed.

While talking about his ultimate goal, the nine-time Pro Bowler also expressed gratitude towards the Chiefs for believing in him and giving him the chance to build a name for himself. He also appreciated head coach Andy Reid’s leadership and guidance that brought him where he is today.

Kelce spoke about the legacy he wanted to build before retiring.

I just wanna be known as somebody who was selfless and really wanted to make a difference in the communities he was playing in.

Currently, the Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Kelce are aiming for a three-peat in the 2024 season. A quest in a bid to create history with Kansas City’s name as the first team in the history of the NFL to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
