Chael Sonnen and Jorge Masvidal's feud knows no bounds

Chael Sonnen seems to find callouts from Jorge Masvidal confusing enough as it is. Moreover, Sonnen readily leans into his moniker and persona of a “Bad Guy.” So, was Masvidal supposedly not to find degeneracy and dissolution in his methods? As such, Sonnen asks what he expected.

In a sitdown with MMAFightign on SBN, Jorge Masvidal pinned the UFC legend for testing positive for a pool of six or seven enhancers. He thus wanted to smash his orbital. Recanting his MMA retirement, Masvidal considered Chael Sonnen a prime candidate. Sonnen, who boldly flaunts his anabolic usage, remains unbothered.

Jorge Masvidal has no business bringing out of his mouth…you hear what he says about [me]? ‘Oh, he took steroids’…I can’t believe you didn’t! I am a little bit surprised that somebody as foul of character as Jorge Masvidal is judging me…I mean, in all fairness I’m not a very good guy. [But] I’m not Jorge Masvidal…

He is often characteristically the guy who revolutionized trash-talking. The retired UFC alum has built on prime rivalries during his hedge as a prize fighter. His rivalry against Anderson Silva is one for the books. The UFC 117 scrap between Chael Sonnen and him even made it to the UFC Hall of Fame’s ‘Fight Wing’ – Class of 2024. Given his caliber, it’s not surprising that he’d take bold steps.

Sonnen never disputed Masvidal’s claims of him being a steroid user. In fact, he douses that as a billed fake gangster, he’d meet the opposition head-on. He has even warned that the UFC’s pioneer gangster would need more reinforcements to face the likes of him. All in all, the foul-mouthed dogfight between the two has caught on quite the momentum.

‘Gamebred’ faces Nate Diaz in a 10-round, 175-pound boxing bout on July 6 at Honda Center in Anaheim. They were billed for a 10-round boxing match on June 1 at Kia Forum in Inglewood. But that has now shifted to avoid clashes with UFC’s active grind. Amidst that, he has quite the scuffle going on with Chael Sonnen.

In recent times, ex-UFC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen has remained in lengthy social media tirades with Jorge Masvidal. So much so that the ‘American Gangster’ even wanted to sub in as backup for the upcoming boxing match. He recently addressed Masvidal’s callouts on the Pound 4 Pound Podcast and mentioned the inaugural BMF would need more men if they met. Fuming at his unprovoked shouts, Sonnen also took a pass at his steroid usage.

Like you guys know someone [would say], ‘Chael, hang on, got a little… I don’t think he’s on the same steroids’ …I am on the same steroids, I will whip his a**. There’s a reason they weigh people in. I will whip his a**. There is not a long haired man walking the planet that Chael P has to worry about. Keep that in mind…

Masvidal, 39, hasn’t been active since his skid to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287. Sonnen is on the out from even back before. Yet the ongoing feud has reached such heights that they are ready to bash each other. His outburst against Masvidal, and vice versa, will result in more lengthy battles. Donning his ‘Bad Guy’ disposition, Sonnen is ready for the challenge. The name “Masvidal” might not spark his affinity to contend with a “Silva,” but nobody tells the ‘American Gangster’ he isn’t gangster enough.
