Colby Covington has challenged Charles Oliveira to a potential showdown. The “King of Brazil” has offered Oliveira a chance to fight him if he moves up to the welterweight division. Covington wants to see if Oliveira can simply talk the talk or also walk the walk.

Colby Covington recently sat down for a conversation with Submission Radio. During their discussion, he talked about a potential fight with Charles Oliveira in Brazil.

We’ll make the biggest and best fight happen, I want legacy fights. I think a guy like Charles Oliveira makes sense. He was out there saying the other day that he wants to come up to welterweight. So, I’m the King of fckin’ Brazil, man. Everybody knows I run that fcking country. So, all the women love me. All the men in Brazil want to be like me.

Looks like a bout with Ian Garry is now a thing of the past for Covington. After months of intense back and forth and buildup, the former interim welterweight champion has moved on to Oliveira and Belal Muhammad. Covington currently ranks #4 in the welterweight division rankings. His last fight was last year in December at UFC 296. He lost to Leon Edwards via unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Oliveira’s last fight was at UFC 300 where he lost to Arman Tsarukyan in a title-eliminator showdown via split decision. Now, Covington wants to create a legacy and fight Oliveira who is a former UFC lightweight champion. It will be interesting to see Oliveira’s response after Covington’s comments on his native homeland.

Colby Covington talks about fighting Kamaru Usman

Colby Covington is not a huge fan of Kamaru Usman. They have fought twice and each time Usman has come out on top. However, Covington revealed something interesting about his conduct in their last showdown.

Chaos recently sat down for a conversation on The Rush podcast. There he mentioned Kamaru Usman’s unfair win at UFC 268.

He was going down, he was going to be TKOed. I was going to win the fight, and then they stopped it. It wasn’t a fair fight. I was fighting two on one that night.

Covington lost his last fight with Usman via unanimous decision. However, he is now waiting for his next matchup and so is Usman. Dana White had recently declared him the best welterweight of all time. It will be interesting to see if the duo steps into the octagon for a trilogy fight this year.
