Undefeated Dagestanti middleweight Sharaputdin Magomedov has not fought since he debuted at UFC 294. Magomedov defeated Brazil’s Bruno Silva in an exciting fight where he showcased his impressive striking, unlike the usual Dagestani fighters. Now, Magomedov has set his sights on an exciting middleweight from Brazil.

UFC had scheduled Magomedov’s second fight against Ihor Potieria for UFC Saudi Arabia. However, Potiera stepped in on short notice against Michel Pereira at UFC 301 for the injured Makhmud Muradov. Magomedov is now without an opponent but has one mind after Potieria lost in the first round against Pereira.

@michelpereiraufc, you damn acrobat, I lost my opponent because of you. Everyone knows that you can do backflips now, but UFC is not a circus. You made an illegal move, and now you have to be punished. @ufc @mickmaynard2 @aliabdelaziz let me deal with this clown, ship him to Saudi Arabia 22 June and I will quickly teach him a lesson.

Pereira is now undefeated in the UFC’s middleweight division, winning all the fights via first-round finish. However, Pereira came close to losing the fight at UFC 301 due to an illegal kick, which Magomedov mentioned in his callout. Nonetheless, Pereira’s acrobatics received admiration even from ex-middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Like UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping, Magomedov is blind in one eye. The athletic commissions in the USA do not allow fighters to compete if that’s the case. However, that won’t likely be a problem in the Middle East. Nevertheless, a fight against Pereira on short notice is likely not possible due to the Brazilian’s humanitarian efforts in Brazil.

The 2024 Rio Grande do Sul floods have destroyed life and property in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and adjacent cities of Uruguay. UFC middleweight champion Michel Pereira knew about the devastating flood from a survivor at the airport after his impressive performance at UFC 301.

After hearing stories of the destruction, Pereira has engaged in humanitarian activities. He has been part of several rescue missions in the location and has even saved stranded animals. Internet personality Deivid Wisley Angelos is also part of the rescue operations and showed gratitude for Pereira’s help.

Pereira revealed via Instagram the reason for him doing the endeavor. He stated he had received help from others throughout his life, and it is now his time to repay the debt. As such, the Brazilian’s priority right now is not fighting. Hence, he won’t likely step in on short notice to fight Sharaputdin Magomedov on UFC Saudi Arabia.
