Manel Kape couldn’t catch a break from drug testing agencies even during his vacation. Kape is one of the most exciting fighters currently on the rise in the flyweight division. Even with all of his success, the fighter still has to deal with an incredible amount of rigidity with drug testing.

Manel Kape was recently a guest on the JAXXON Podcast with former UFC fighter Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson. During the conversation, the fighter revealed that he was drug tested more than ten times in a single year. Kape also claimed that the testers showed up during one of his vacations in Singapore.

More than 20 in one year. In Singapore, I was there in vacation and they show up there. Three times in my hotel.

Drug testing stories from UFC fighters are always interesting. While most are outrageous, many also take a wild turn, like in the case of Jon Jones. However, it seems like for Kape, 20 tests in one year seemed a little bit excessive, as Rampage Jackson himself mentioned.

Kape’s last fight was against Felipe dos Santos which the Portuguese won via unanimous decision. While Kape initially wanted to fight Kai Kara-France, it seems like he now has a new opponent waiting for him. It is safe to say the Portuguese fighter remains a win away from a title shot.

A high-octane flyweight bout between Muhammad Mokaev and Manel Kape will likely happen at UFC 304. Since UFC 304 is in Manchester on July 27, the promotion will likely want hometown talents like Muhammad Mokaev and others to feature on the card.

Mokaev wanted to fight against Alexandre Pantoja for the flyweight title. However, the fighter must first deal with Kape in July. Ahead of the fight, the English fighter is pretty confident about his victory. Even before the bout agreement got signed, Mokaev posted a fight poster on social media and predicted his victory.

On the other hand, Manel ‘Starboy’ Kape has a four-fight win streak and would like to maintain that to receive a title shot. Flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja said he wanted to fight again in December. As such, the timeline works for the winner of Kape vs. Mokaev to fight for the title next.
