This might be a bad decision by FedEx.
As someone that operates warehouses and has drivers from FedEx, UPs and more, there could be a reason for this.

There are many reasons he is throwing the light weight boxes that might contain a media kit, or a shirt, or a wooden spatula wrapped in plastic.
He might be directing them to the corner he will sort them in.
