Colby “Chaos” Covington is a company man. The three-time UFC welterweight title challenger is also a staunch MAGA Republican. As such, he always spoke highly of ex-US President Donald Trump, UFC CEO Dana White, and UFC CBO Hunter Campbell. Recently, Covington found a similarity between Baron, Trump’s youngest son, and the UFC CBO.

Covington is a close friend of Trump. As such, he is a regular at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s official residence. Therefore, he is privy to details about Trump and his family. Trump has five children: three sons and two daughters. Per Covington, Trump’s youngest son Baron is the most intelligent as he compared him and Hunter Campbell, the brains behind UFC operations.

He’s [Baron Trump] a Hunter Campbell, so he stays behind the scenes, but this kid is one of the smartest kids I’ve ever talked to. He’s 18 years old, he talks just like his dad [Donald Trump]; like he’s his dad’s age [metaphorically], and the intellectual depth is just out of this world.

Dana White and the Fertitta brothers were responsible for the success of the UFC before the latter sold the company. Since 2017, Hunter Campbell has teamed with Dana White as a right-hand man. Even though he rarely speaks in public, many consider him the third most powerful man in the promotion. For Covington, Baron is to Trump what Campbell is to White.

Funnily enough, Baron talking about history from the early 20th century surprised Covington. The amount of historical knowledge the youngest Trump possessed was a big surprise for the former interim UFC welterweight champion. Since Baron is the tallest member of the Trump family, fans have alluded to a basketball future, but Covington was against it.

Donald Trump and his sons are over 6ft tall. The patriarch is 6’3″, Donald Trump Jr. is 6’1″, Eric Trump is 6’5″, and Baron Trump is 6’8″. The youngest Trump recently turned 18 and will likely grow a couple more inches.

As such, Trump fans often predict a future in basketball for Baron, who, at 6’8″, has the ideal frame to be a good Small Forward. However, Covington does not see it that way. He spoke on it in the Rush With Maxx Crossby podcast.

A bunch of fans I took a picture with them [Trump family] last week, and we had dinner with him [Baron Trump] and his dad [Donald Trump] at Mara-a-Lago at the, you know, Trump house. And everybody was like, ‘Oh, you should get into basketball.’ And I’m just like laughing. Why would he get into it? He could own a basketball.

For Covington, Baron has the skillset to become a good politician. Moreover, he has enough wealth to own an NBA team. Another reason for Covington’s assessment might be the fighter’s distaste for wokeness in the NBA, especially since he is highly critical of LeBron James.

As for his future in the UFC, Colby Covington revealed his interest in fighting Belal Muhammad for a number one contender fight. Ian Garry has been clamoring for a co-main event fight with Covington at UFC 303, though Covington has allegedly not accepted the fight.
