Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira is now the best fighter from Chute Boxe. Even after his recent loss to Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300, Oliveira has great things ahead of him. One of the recent additions to the Chute Boxe fight team is the controversial Irishman Ian Machado Garry, whose wife is half-Brazilian.

Garry had faced problems with the nomadic nature of training camps. Leon Edwards and his coach allegedly ousted Garry from Team Renegade in Birmingham. From the looks of it, he also has a ban from KillCliff MMA in Miami. However, at Chute Boxe in Brazil, Garry found a new family.

I love them [Charles Oliveira and Diego Lima]; they’re my family. They’re people that have so much care and so much love that they’re going to be my teammates, my family forever. And I’m excited. I’m excited for the journey with them by my side.

Similarly, Oliveira and Lima only have nice things to say about Garry. The Irishman’s first training camp with Chute Boxe was for his scheduled fight against Vicente Luque at UFC 296. However, he had to pull out due to pneumonia, a decision many, including Colby Covington and Henry Cejudo, criticized.

The first fight Garry had with Diego Lima in his corner was against Geoff Neal at UFC 298. Unlike his previous fights, the Neal fight did not have any entertaining factor, as Garry won a dull decision. Post victory, Garry called out Covington, his bitter rival in the division.

Charles Oliveira and other Brazilian superstars like Alex Pereira, Gilbert Burns, and Jessica Andrade were on the front row at UFC 301. Ian Garry and his wife, Layla Anna-Lee, also attended the event. Oliveira was also on the corner of his teammate Elves Brenner, who lost to Myktybek Orolbai.

Brenner’s weight cut with Oliveira’s assistance had gone viral on social media. Nonetheless, Brenner was unable to defeat Orolbai. Even though a tiring Orolbai had one point deducted for a fence grab in round 3, he dropped Brenner at the end of the round, making it 9-9. Soon, Ian Garry met Brenner, Oliveira, and Lima backstage after the loss.

Garry provided words of wisdom for the lightweight and embraced them before they went their separate ways. The Irishman was in Ireland and came to Brazil for UFC 301. Even though many Brazilians were on the card, Elves Brener was the only one from Diego Lima’s Chute Boxe on the fight card. Brener was on a three-fight winning streak before the loss at UFC 301.
