MMA is a violent sport, but there are rare occasions when MMA fighters engage in violent conduct outside the sport. When an MMA fighter does engage in violent conduct, especially domestic violence, it becomes major news. Ex-Bellator MMA fighter Sean Loeffler is a recent domestic violence perpetrator who grabbed the headlines.
Loeffler pleaded guilty to two several domestic violence charges and accepted a plea deal of 2 years in prison. The violations of Loeffler came to light after Liz Campbell and Megan Andrew, his ex-fiancees, came forth about the abuse to protect several other women. ABC 10 News was the first to report the news as they sat down with the women.

Both women painted Loeffler as a master manipulator. Moreover, both revealed they feared for their lives when with Loeffler. Megan Andrew stated she met Loeffler at Compound MMA and Fitness, where Loeffler was the CEO.

Liz Campbell and Megan Andrew are certain several women will come forth in the coming days against the ex-fighter. Loeffler’s lawyers refuse to comment after the two-year sentence. However, the prosecution stated the next offense from Loeffler would result in an automatic 25-year sentence.
Sean Loeffler almost fought in the UFC
Sean Loeffler is now a controversial name in MMA due to his recent domestic violence sentencing. Many media outlets often refer to him as an ex-Bellator fighter. Sporting a 34-5 win-loss record with 33 finishes, 16 TKO/KO, and 17 submissions, Loeffler had the nickname of the ‘Destroyer.’

Unfortunately for Barker, he lost to Bryan Baker at Bellator 16 via second-round TKO. Loeffler retired from MMA after the cancellation of fights with Rousimar Palhares, the controversial fighter the UFC fired due to his refusal to release submissions.
Interestingly, the UFC had signed Loeffler in 2012 to fight Buddy Roberts at UFC on Fuel TV 1 in Nebraska. Unfortunately, Roberts suffered an injury while warming up, and the commission pulled him out of the fight. Moreover, he only returned after two years but never appeared in the UFC, even though his name is available on the official UFC website.
Nevertheless, the UFC on Fuel TV 1 had many notable names. Headlined by Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger, the event had TJ Dillashaw and Stipe Miocic on the undercard. Tim Means, who recently fought at UFC Vegas 91, was on the preliminary card. Loeffler, thus, remains a big what-if story in MMA.
