Petr Yan and Chito Vera are going back and forth again. According to Vera, Petr Yan does not want to fight him after all their recent trash talk online. He recently took to X and declared that Petr Yan has turned down a potential fight against him at the Madison Square Garden.
There were signs of a potential matchup between the two bantamweights after UFC 299. However, Vera recently sent out a tweet on X. According to this, the UFC has told Vera that Yan is not going to fight him in the near future. He wrote:

Yan had recently trolled Vera after his recent loss to Sean O’Malley at UFC 299. Vera had given O’Malley the only loss in his UFC career. But this time, O’Malley completely outclassed him and grabbed the bantamweight title for himself. Vera targeted Petr Yan as his next fight and called him out.

That same night, Petr Yan beat Song Yadong breaking his three-fight losing streak. He later trolled Vera saying that if they had fought earlier, Vera would not have even gotten a title shot. However, Yan incurred several injuries in that fight and will reportedly be out for a while now.

Chito Vera is not the only opponent on Petr Yan’s list of targets. The former bantamweight champion revealed in an interview after UFC 299 that he wants to fight the top fighters in the division. However, he declined any potential fight against the former champion Aljamain Sterling.

He also talked about Olympic wrestler and former champion, Henry Cejudo. According to Yan, he is only interested in the ranked fighters in the division who are on his level. According to Yan, Henry Cejudo is out of the question for now.
