On Sunday, Patrick Mahomes paid a visit to Luka Doncic following the Dallas Mavericks (39-29) narrow 107-105 win over the Denver Nuggets (47-21). The game also saw some other sports superstars attend the high-octane action.

Patrick Mahomes was waiting for Doncic after the game near the Dallas team’s lounge area. He gave the 25-year-old one of his signed Kansas City Chiefs No. 15 jerseys as a present.

I had to get you back, dawg. Great game, man. I will be back out here.
Mahomes told Doncic, as per Mavs social team

Being a Texan native, Patrick Mahomes grew up with a keen interest in basketball. Not only that, he was a very capable baseball player in school, a trait he received from his father and former MLB pro-Pat Mahomes. In the end, the 28-year-old opted to continue his career in football.

Since the Kansas City Chiefs drafted the Texas Tech graduate, he has won three Super Bowls. Moreover, he has been named Super Bowl MVP three times, NFL MVP twice, 6 Pro Bowls, and 2 All-Pro nods. Mahomes has led in passing touchdowns twice (in 2018 and 2022) and passing yards in 2022.

Who is the biggest threat to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs achieving a three-peat?

During his seven-year NFL career, Mahomes has reached four Super Bowls, becoming champions on three occasions. Not only that, the last two rings were back-to-back (2022 and 2023). Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce announced that they will be fighting for the unprecedented three-peat, which means three consecutive Super Bowl victories.

There will be challenges along the way for the Chiefs to overcome. One of the biggest names that could prove to be a tough opponent is Joe Burrow. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback previously beat Mahomes in the 2021 AFC Championship game, but the Chiefs exacted their revenge the following season.

However, due to recent developments, a new team has emerged as a possible obstacle for Mahomes and Co. The former New England Patriots Super Bowl-winning defensive tackle Chris Long believes that the Houston Texans are a side that should not be taken lightly.

Long appeared on the Rich Eisen Show this week and claimed to keep an eye out for CJ Stroud working his magic once more.

It’s not a stretch to say that the Texans are going to win that division and play some home games.

The Texans have used free agency wisely, adding players in key positions. Four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Danielle Hunter, who had 16.5 sacks in 2023, joined the Minnesota Vikings. Running back, Joe Mixon switched from Ohio to Texas after his contract ran out. Mixon registered his fourth 1,000-yard season last campaign, scoring nine touchdowns.

During his rookie season, Stroud led the Texans to a long-awaited postseason game. They reached the divisional round, losing out to the Baltimore Ravens. The Ohio State graduate led the league with 279.6 passing yards per game, throwing for over 4100 yards, scoring 23 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions.
