On Friday, Malik Nabers faced the media at the NFL Combine. The LSU wide receiver is projected to be the first playmaker to be taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. He faced several questions during the interview. One of them was choosing the GOAT (greatest of all time) of the NBA.

The reporters asked Nabers if he had to pick between LeBron James and Michael Jordan as the best players to ever play basketball. Who would it be? Usually, anyone would hesitate to answer a controversial question. But Nabers did not stutter with his choice.

As per NFL.com, Nabers’ potential destination could be the Arizona Cardinals, while Sports Illustrated predicted that he would end up with the Los Angeles Chargers. Both teams have experienced yet young quarterbacks at the helm, ready to take their game up a notch. The addition of a receiver like Nabers will undeniably help their team’s cause.

Whoever the quarterback he ends up playing with, whether it’s Kyler Murray or Justin Herbert, Nabers wants to build a strong connection on and off the field. During the combine, he revealed,

Creating that relationship off the field. When you create a relationship off the field with your quarterback, he knows you personally, knows where you [Malik Nabers] come from, and knows why you play this sport, so I feel like that relationship carries on on the field.

Nabers built a strong relationship with LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. The pair have become the deadly duo of college football for the past two years. Although he doesn’t yet know which quarterback will throw to him in the NFL, he does have a preferred team he wants to play for.

The Louisiana native grew up watching Odell Beckham Jr. light up the NFL wearing the famous blue jersey of the New York Giants. Since Beckham left the franchise, they are still searching for a suitable replacement. Nabers believes that he could be the answer.

He revealed a meeting with the Giants representatives before facing the media in Indianapolis. The chat went really well, and Nabers felt that Giants’ head coach Brian Daboll took a liking to him.

It was a great interview. I feel like the head coach [Brian Daboll] really likes me a lot. I know they’re still looking for [wide receiver] No. 1, especially after [Odell] Beckham Jr. left. If I can come in and be that guy, then so be it.

The Giants hold the No. 6 pick in the draft. It would be interesting to see if they move up or strike a deal with either the Cardinals or the Chargers and move up to add Malik Nabers.
