However, the story is different if the other person is Magic Johnson, the legendary player for the Lakers. Johnson recounted an incident in which he invited Prince to one of his movie theaters and twice hung up on Michael Jackson.

On Thursday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, Magic Johnson, shared his memories of Michael Jackson and Prince, whom he invited to a pajama party at one of his movie theaters. According to Johnson, Jackson was phoning to discuss being featured in his “Remember the Time” music video from 1992.

So I get a call, Magic. I want to talk to you. So I hung up the phone. So the phone rang two minutes later. Magic, this is Michael Jackson, I said, this is not Michael Jackson, So I hung up the phone again.

Then he added that Jackson’s brother Jackie Jackson, made sure that it was his brother. Johnson had apologized to The King of Pop for an hour when he called him. During their chat, the pop star suggested including Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan, a professional basketball player, as two “MJs” in his video.

However, Bird and Magic squared off in college before they faced off in the NBA. That’s when Johnson first acknowledged ever being afraid of a player.

In one of his books, ‘When the Game Was Our’, Johnson wrote:

The problem with Larry was he could shoot from anywhere. It was the first time in my life I was scared of another player.
