Triple-doubles in the professional basketball world are difficult. A Quadruple-double is tougher due to its complexity. A quintuple-double is high up in the stratosphere as an extremely rare feat. Wilt Chamberlain supposedly had a quintuple-double game. But since steals and blocks were not recorded back then, it is not official. Kieonna Christmas, a high school senior recorded a quintuple-double in a high school women’s basketball game held on December 13th, 2023.
Kieonna Christmas plays for Fonda-Fultonville High School in the district of New York. In the game against Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School, Christmas ended the game with a stat line of 11 points, 20 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals, and 10 blocks. Playing the forward position for her team, her performance helped the team notch a 55-50 win. This record is insane irrespective of the category or class. Putting up such numbers is daunting in the NBA or WNBA.
Kieonna Christmas’s performance is the 13th time a high schooler has dropped a quintuple-double. It is understood that the feat is easier in the women’s high school circuit compared to any other category. The first recorded quintuple-double in history was by WNBA legend, Tamika Catchings who marked the feat in 1997.
NBA great, Wilt Chamberlain’s quintuple-double is not part of recorded history as blocks and steals were not recorded in 1968. But statistician, Harvey Pollack confirmed Chamberlain had put up the quintuple-double. A quadruple-double is the closest NBA players could do in recorded history.

Basketball fans patiently wait to see their favorite NBA or WNBA superstars set records. They celebrate such feats with aplomb, considering how difficult it is to achieve memorable feats. But when a high school basketball player drops a quintuple-double, people will sit up and take notice.

Whatever level of play Kieonna Christmas was in, it does not take anything away from her effort to create history. Consequently, having your name etched alongside the great Tamika Catchings is no small feat. Kieonna has a bright future ahead of her.
