On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers played against the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers, led by LeBron James, won the game (123-118), marking their 31st win of the season. Despite the loss, Spurs’ Malaki Branham went viral for showing his amazing skills during the game.
With almost eleven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Lakers led by eight points. Cedi Osman passed the ball to Branham. Without missing a beat, the Spurs forward dunked the basketball with his left hand on NBA veteran LeBron James. The crowd roared in surprise when Branham reacted so quickly and scored on James. The Lakers star has good defensive skills.
Some would say LeBron inched closer to retirement after getting dunked on. This play cut the Lakers’ lead to six. However, by the end of the game, Spurs could not make the comeback and lost the game. Coming off the bench, the 20-year-old scored 17 points in 23 minutes with 3-5 from the three-point line.
In the win, James managed to score 30 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists. Anthony Davis had a double-double of 28 points and 13 assists. All of the Lakers starters scored in double digits in the win.

Malaki Branham was drafted in 2022 by the Spurs as the 20th overall pick on the day. Being considerably new to the team, Branham has played an important role for the Spurs for almost the past two years. He has averaged 10.2 points with 44FG% and 30.2 3PT % during his rookie year.

The San Antonio Spurs are currently struggling as they are the 15th seed in the Western Conference table. Despite acquiring the first overall pick of the 2023 draft, Victor Wembanyama, who is also on the rookie of the year ladder, the Spurs cannot win games and change their season.
