As the basketball world geared up to celebrate Michael Jordan‘s 61st birthday, popular YouTube streamer Kai Cenat recently claimed he can ‘fry’ the GOAT 1v1 in a gym. BQ Parker, a reporter for The Score, recently caught up with Cenat to muse over an imaginary one-on-one basketball game with the icon himself. The thought of going head-to-head with Jordan, even as he steps into his sixties, sparked excitement in the young star.

Cenat, known for his vibrant personality, didn’t shy away from the playful challenge one bit. Acknowledging Jordan’s unparalleled legacy on the court, Kai conceded that MJ would undoubtedly score some points. However, he quickly highlighted his strategy, focusing on the singular goal of scoring just once against the basketball GOAT and taking that as a win.

Kai Cenat told The Score:

Damn! 61? Damn! Okay. I’m frying him. I’m frying him. MJ gonna get some points on me, but all I gotta do is score one. You feel what I’m saying? Me scoring one, that makes my whole day. For me to say that I scored on MJ that’s a win all day, no cap.

This respect for the legendary Michael Jordan is to be expected, who’s often hailed as the greatest basketball player of all time. Throughout his illustrious career with the Chicago Bulls and a brief stint with the Washington Wizards, Jordan amassed 32,292 points (5th all-time), averaging 30.1 a game (1st all-time).

Not only did he win the scoring title 10 times (1st all-time), he also made the All-Defensive First Team nine times (6th all-time, 2nd all-time by a guard). MJ also led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s and was named NBA Finals MVP in all six of them—a feat no other player has matched.

While the debate over the NBA’s Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) remains endlessly open, featuring legends such as LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Kobe Bryant, besides Jordan no one can deny that Jordan tops the list as the NBA’s wealthiest athlete. His staggering fortune of $3.5 billion comes from a series of strategic investments and high-paying endorsements.

Selling the Charlotte Hornets for $3 billion was easily one of the best plays the legend has ever made. While his NBA career earnings were a ‘humble’ $94 million over 15 years, his real goldmine was his Nike deal and endorsements with McDonald’s and Gatorade. Now a part of the Forbes 400, Jordan is the 379th richest person in the United States of America.

But, the real gem in Jordan’s wealth crown is his bond with Nike. Back in 1984, Nike was nearly tripping over in the basketball shoe race. Signing Jordan for $500,000 a year was unheard of at the time. Nike really pulled it back up to its feet. The Air Jordan brand funneled about $2 billion into Jordan’s coffers, with Forbes noting he pocketed around $260 million in his most recent annual royalty.
