Sports analyst and the co-panelist of the show First Things First, Chris Broussard had a hot take on the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. In the show’s latest episode, the analyst noted that he found Mahomes a bit similar to Michael Jordan.
Since the Chiefs have won their consecutive second Super Bowl, many discussions are doing rounds comparing the quarterback with the legendary Tom Brady. However, Broussard did not like to find similarities between Mahomes and Brady. Instead, he advocated Mahomes was more Jordan-esque.

He did not stop the argument there as he went on discussing the similarities that both have. The analyst gave instances of the rookie seasons that both the players had and elaborated on the argument.
Here’s the thing Nick. I believe when I say Mahomes is Jordan-esque after his first season when he threw 50 touchdowns for 5,000 yards. I was like he is going to win. We just see how good he is. He is going to have great individual numbers and accolades and win at an incredibly high level. To me, that’s what makes Jordan a guy. But Jordan had incredible individual dominance measured by stats and accolades and team dominance. Jordan had the rare combination of both. Mahomes has that and Brady did not have the accolades and stats in the first three seasons.
Chiefs had a clutch 2023-24 season and Patrick Mahomes was the architect
If any word sums up the experience of the Chiefs 2023-24 season, then that is ‘clutch’. The team was not favored to win the recently concluded season by many analysts after seeing their first-half performances. They were limping as the team suffered multiple defeats against teams like the Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders.
However, the Chiefs managed to make a place in the playoffs from where they started showing their true colors. Mahomes faced opponents on the road for the first time, but that did not create a roadblock as the team demolished everyone. In all the big games from the postseason, Mahomes provided his best on the turf. The opponents’ defenses had no answer for him. His late touchdown drive sealed the trophy for the team.
