United States Presidential candidate Nikki Haley‘s comments on racism were met with disbelief by the majority of the citizens. Charles Barkley was one of the most prominent people to come out and openly question her beliefs about racism in America.
Since then, Haley has been answering and clarifying about the same topic in every interview she has been on. Barkley got that chance too, and he confronted Haley about her comments live on national television.
The NBA Hall of Famer and his co-host Gayle King were on their show KingCharles on CNN. Nikki Haley was live to talk about her presidential race. Barkley started by telling Haley;
I’m dying to vote for you, I wanna give all my energy and all my heart behind your campaign. But I was upset when you made the reference that you didn’t think America had racism.
Barkley then went on to confront her by asking her;
I wanna give you a chance. Did you say that cause you felt like you needed to say that to the audience? That hurt me. So I would love you to clarify that please.
To this, Haley went on to clarify that she did not mean that there was no racism in America. She meant that people should not think that America is a racist country.
Charles Barkley trolled Nikki Haley right after she said that America was not a racist country. He mentioned that racism is a problem that America has been tackling for generations. Barkley added that history is an indicator that racism has defined the growth of the country over the years.
