The 73rd NBA All-Star game is underway in Indianapolis. Usually, the All-Star games provide fans with high-level entertainment. However, one particular move from Trae Young on Kevin Durant has fans lighting up the internet. The clip of the move has spread on social media like wildfire.
With five minutes left in the second quarter, Trae Young has the ball at the three-point line with Durant guarding him. He dribbles the ball to his left hand, hesitates for a split second, and then bounces the ball between Durant’s legs, nutmegging the 14-time All-Star. Young collects the ball with his right hand to finish with an easy layup. The move left the Phoenix Suns superstar completely clueless as to where the ball went.
The Atlanta Hawks superstar did not have any other East All-Star teammates near him before this move. Which is why he decided to go alone against Durant. The move was replayed a lot of times on TV for the sheer audacity of it. The move would not have been complete without the basket, which is why LeBron James left Young alone even if he could have blocked the shot easily.
That is the spirit of the All-Star game. They can show out without hurting anyone’s ego. Not only did this move bring out cheers from fans and the commentating group of TNT, but it also brought a big smile from All-Star teammate Karl Anthony-Towns.
