It was a good week for basketball as we saw the NBA All-Star Weekend at its full flow with the Rising Stars Challenge being the talk of the night.
With a star-studded team, you expect there to be some level of competitiveness even in a chilled game. That’s what the environment Bennedict Mathurin was trying to create with a rather alluring bet.

said Bennedict Mathurin, putting forward a bet to Paolo Banchero, implying he would finish the game with free throws that would bring his team to a score of 40 points while the game was at 38-35.
While Paolo Banchero never replied back saying “bet,” Mathurin fell short of his bet as he failed to score the free throw, resulting in losing the $25,000 as per his demands. Given the winning team of the Rising Stars Challenge received $25,000, Bennedict was quite confident about putting his money on the line. All while it was caught up by the court microphone, there was no reply from Paolo Banchero on his response to the wager.

Nevertheless, the clip went viral with everyone calling him out for losing the bet. While the event in itself was an intriguing game from both sides, moments like these made the game even more competitive given the nature of the event.
Bennedict Mathurin shines in the NBA All-Star game
It was the face-off between Team Jalen and Team Tamika in the NBA All-Star game last night. And without a doubt, it provided some enjoyable moments.

In a game that saw Team Jalen take the win by a scoreline of 40-35, it was Mathurin who was the star for his team. In the entirety of the game, he managed to get 18 points and 2 rebounds winning the MVP and moving into the finals.
The NBA All-Star always provides us with some memorable highlights, and sure enough even the Rising Star game was an intriguing matchup. But we all await the NBA All-Star game, and that’s going to be even bigger.
