During ESPN’s broadcast of the NBA All-Star celebrity game on Friday, Jefferson made a joke about some of the 49ers players admitting that they weren’t aware of the new overtime rules during their Super Bowl game.

Later, some of the Niners players even admitted that they weren’t aware of the new overtime rules that would allow both teams to get the ball. Even the Kansas City Chiefs players claimed they knew the Niners messed up when they decided to take the ball in overtime.
According to reports, they were preparing for a situation like this throughout the entire season. The 49ers received a lot of heat for their decision to receive the ball. Many believe that the decision cost them the game. And now, the former NBA champion Richard Jefferson took a swipe at the NFC champions. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers wouldn’t hear the end of it until they win a championship ring.

After the Super Bowl ended in a bad way for the 49ers, many players, including their full-back Kyle Juszczyk admitted not knowing the new overtime rules. Furthermore, QB Brock Purdy also disclosed that he had to have a chat with the quarterbacks’ coach for a refresher on the new rules.
