The legendary American sports reporter and former basketball player, Kenny Smith always amazes us with his stories. This time, Michael Jordan was the character of stinginess in his tale. Despite being one of the wealthiest players in the history of the NBA, Michael Jordan doesn’t merely hand out his money. The legend has always had a unique style of interacting with others, and this time, Smith texted Jordan about something at the request of Kenny’s daughter.
A few NBA luminaries have provided numerous stories that shed light on this aspect relating to Jordan. First of all, though, who doesn’t love Jordan Sneakers? When Kenny Smith appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, he told everyone how his daughter wanted sneakers to show support for Jordan. He then texted Jordan, but the funny response he received was shared with the world.
Kenny Smith via Jimmy Kimmel Live said,
We’re buying sneakers. She’s like, why aren’t we supporting him and buying his sneakers?
Smith decided to text Jordan to inform him of the situation. He added,
I’m thinking he’s gonna go. ‘well you know what, just don’t worry. I’m going to send you boxes.
The goal was to obtain some complimentary shoe boxes from the five-time MVP. Jordan has given the people of America—and Chicago in particular—many noteworthy gifts and contributions. He does not, however, regularly give money to homeless men. Barkley once referred to Jordan as cheap as well.
Kevin Garnett compared Anthony Edwards to Michael Jordan
Kevin Garnett’s passion, determination, and hard work have inspired a lot of young athletes. After retiring, Garnett launched his podcast and shared some thought-provoking opinions about the NBA today. Anthony Edwards was once compared to Michael Jordan, more precisely to Jordan as a rookie in 1984. On his podcast, Kevin Garnett expressed his admiration for Anthony Edwards. And there’s no greater comparison than with the NBA legend.

That’s the OG man. Whatever he says, goes. So, anybody who’s gonna argue with him, you gotta take it up with Michael Jordan. I think he is right, 84 Jordan. He didn’t say ’96 or ’97. 84 you know he is finding himself.
Rachel Nichols: “[Kevin Garnett] said you remind him of an 84 [Michael] Jordan. What do you think about what he said?”
Anthony Edwards: “That’s the OG, man. Whatever he say, goes. … I think [KG is] right for sure.” 😲

Although he was comparing the rookie Michael Jordan to Anthony Edwards, Kevin Garnett did make the comparison. It makes sense when KG compared Anthony Edwards to a rookie Michael Jordan. In terms of assists, rebounds, and scoring, MJ led his team from the start of his career. Anthony Edwards reminds everyone a little of Jordan, even though he may not be as successful.
