Danny Ainge, former President of Basketball Operations for the Boston Celtics, recently made comments in support of new head coach Joe Mazulla over former coach Ime Udoka. Ainge stepped down from his position in 2021 to become the CEO of Basketball Operations and Alternate Governor of Utah Jazz, which created the opportunity for Brad Stevens to take over the role. Udoka was hired as head coach, but was later fired due to improper conduct with a female staff member. Mazulla took over the position and Ainge is now defending him, claiming he is a better coach than Udoka. However, NBA Twitter did not agree with Ainge’s opinion, with some even making jokes about Ainge’s personal life. Ainge should focus on improving the Utah Jazz while Udoka moves on to coach the Houston Rockets. The Boston Celtics have tough decisions to make regarding their coaching staff and players.
