The upcoming Episode 7 of Valorant has players excited because it brings a lot of gameplay adjustments and more. Episode 7 ACT 1 will launch later today with the Valorant Patch 7.0, and we already know the details of it thanks to the Public Beta Environment (PBE) that the developers shared!
For those unaware, the Public Beta Environment (PBE) is a program by Valorant that allows players to test out features that are being worked on for the game before they go live! However, not all features will make it to the live build.
Moving on, here are the full details of the upcoming Valorant Patch 7.0, which includes gameplay changes, new agents, and more.
Valorant Patch 7.0 Modes Updates
Team Deathmatch
Team Deathmatch is a team-oriented 5v5 deathmatch game mode, where the first team to get 100 kills or has the highest score at the end of ten minutes wins.
Agent Updates
Developers have added a new sentinel agent to the game named Deadlock. She is a Norwegian agent with a history that ties her to Sova.
GravNet (C)
This ability allows Deadlock to launch a grenade that turns into a net. The grenade detonates upon contact with the ground, forcing any enemies caught within its area of effect to crouch and move slower.
Sonic Sensor (Q)
This ability allows Deadlock to launch a sensor that monitors an area for sound. When there is heavy gunfire or footsteps in the area where the trap has been placed, it detonates, impacting everyone caught in its radius.
Barrier Mesh (E)
Deadlock has a Barrier Mesh disk that, when released, creates an energy barrier blocking players from entering the area.
Annihilation (X)
Deadlock’s Ultimate ability can only affect a single target. When triggered, Deadlock releases a motion of nanowires that captures the first enemy it hits and wraps them inside a cocoon. The apprehended enemy is pulled back and will die if the nanowires reach their point of origin. The only way to repeal the ultimate is to destroy the cocoon itself.
Progression System Updates
Daily Rewards
Daily rewards will undergo a major overhaul in this patch. The progress of your match will be tracked on a Checkpoint Track, and each checkpoint will give you specific XP along with the new in-game currency, Kingdom Credits.
Accessory Store
There is a new store in the game where players can use their Kingdom Credits to purchase cosmetic items from previous battle passes, such as Titles, Gun buddies, and more.
Agent Recruitment Event
After Patch 7.0 goes live, there will be a new way to unlock agents in Valorant, starting with Deadlock. Every new agent will now have their Recruitment Event as they are released. To unlock the agent, players will need to complete certain tasks and earn a certain amount of XP.
Agent Gear
The agent gear will include cosmetic items and weapon skins that are exclusive to the agent. Players will need to perform certain tasks and earn XP to unlock these items, or they can purchase them using Kingdom Credits or Valorant points.
Previously, upon reaching level 5, players unlocked agents. However, with Patch 7.0, upon reaching level 5, players will be rewarded with a flat amount of Kingdom Credits.
