Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor was at Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday. Even away from the fighting, “The Notorious” is a notoriety in the game. However, there were major concerns when it came to be that the Irish fighter was riding a bus with his arch-enemy Jake Paul. McGregor was also in the rumor mill to face his brother Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing match.

Conor McGregor may be out of the ring for a while, but his competitive banter still remains strong. The same goes for his attitude, prone to start a scuffle. Similarly problematic Jake Paul has often gone to war with him. McGregor confronted potential opponent Logan and his brother Jake en route to the United States presidential inauguration. Tensions were off the charts; the trash-talk was minimal but hit home.

You kept your mouth shut, you did. I thought we were gonna get the fight going? You’re very quiet. You’re giving all this Dana this, Dana that – you’re f*cking controlled by the WWE as well, bro. … Bring it home for me…Here’s the deal, I’m gonna slap the head off the two of yous, and KSI, …All three. … Side jobs. A little side job, yeah?

A vlog on Logan’s YouTube channel captures some of their interactions. The WWE “Maverick” hit back with a diss of his own. Logan Paul took a mickey that he can’t even make his combat return to his UFC job, let alone do a side gig. McGregor was set to return last June against Michael Chandler. However, he pulled out of the UFC 303 PPV Kickoff media presser at 3Arena.

UFC, and its parent TKO Group Holdings helm Paul’s WWE ventures. Hence, this particular arrangement placed TKO in the smacking middle of a $250 million fight purse and PPV spotlight. Unlike Jake Paul, brother Logan re-dedicated himself to his career in WWE. So it’s quite up in the air now.

The elder Paul brother last boxed for the Misfits & DAZN: X Series 10 back in 2023, where all hell broke loose. This interaction involving the Paul brothers and McGregor was jovial, but the fallout is anyone’s guess.

Dana White nixes Logan Paul ‘Notorious’ boxing match

Every year, UFC CEO Dana White says Conor McGregor will return. The Irishman last fought in his 2021 TKO injury affair against Dustin Poirier. Subsequently every year, the complications pile up. The “McGregor” brand is down in the shitter at the Irish civil courts.

A Dublin court found him liable of assault for one Nikita Hand in 2018. His major brands have dropped him as a pitchman and he is bleeding €248,000 in damages (£206,000 /$260,000 all-in), legal fees, and millions in severance fees.

Given his series of arrests, public assaults, and bar crawls that went viral, the fighter hardly is what he once was. More so because he hasn’t fought in a while. Yet, all hope isn’t down the MMA gutter and crocodile lanes. Dana White hopes Conor McGregor will return to the Octagon this autumn, as he says every year. But as long as under the UFC contract, he does have the final say. To that end, boxing Logan Paul isn’t it.

Logan and Jake Paul’s sometimes-influencer-compatriot KSI has also inserted himself in the talks. But the UFC boss makes it clear where he’s at on the scope of such a return. McGregor had clobbered more civil court cases and MMA promoter duties than actual opponents.

So, it might all be a jinx and hoax to keep the fans talking. At least one insider thinks White delivers misinformation on such purport. Will Chandler then be back targeting “Mystic Mac” and dousing “see you…this fall”? No one knows for sure.
