Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors dynasty won their fourth title in 2022 with the help of a bunch of new players. Along with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, players like Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole also had a huge contribution in getting the chip. But things started going south in the very next season when Green punched Poole during practice.
The incident became a hot topic in the league as soon as the footage of Draymond Green taking a swing at Jordan Poole was leaked. The event raised tensions among the organization and eventually led to Poole’s trade to Washington in 2023. Poole returned to the Bay Area for the second time this season last night.
After the matchup, the 25-year-old shared about the bond he still has with ‘most’ of the Warriors players. It seems that guilt has now taken over Green as he shockingly apologized to Poole on Twitter. “I love those guys over there. I love most of those guys over there,” Jordan Poole said.
Green’s response quickly went viral as fans were not expecting the star to apologize publicly. The 34-year-old previously admitted to ‘failing as vet‘ and how he treated a young player. However, the four-time champion has never given an apology. But now it seems that Green is realizing the depth of his actions.
I really am sorry

Losing Poole has affected the team deeply when they chose Green over Poole. After choosing the veteran, the team lost a reliable offensive piece of the roster. In the absence of Curry, Poole has stepped up numerous times to take the team to a win. But since his departure, the Warriors have not seen many bright days in the last two seasons.
Draymond Green’s apology to Jordan Poole sent the NBA world into a frenzy
The Warriors received Chris Paul after trading Jordan Poole away, which did not work out for the team. After only playing one season Paul parted ways with the team. On the other hand, Poole has started getting comfortable in Washington and has taken charge of the team. The shooting guard is averaging 21.9 points and 4.8 assists per game this season – the best figures of his career.
The Warriors, on the other hand, are struggling to stay consistent in the season. Despite adding a few pieces, the team is currently 10th in the West. Watching Poole’s incredible performances and the Warriors’ downfall, fans are constantly reminded of what Green did to hurt the organization. Hence, Green’s apology led to fans trolling the star on Twitter.

Look what you guys had Draymond. I get you’re sorry, but it needs to not get to the point of a punch in practice coming off a championship in the first place. We’re all rooting for you, but this is a mistake a lot wont ever forgive you for pic.twitter.com/zcEofG2Zb5

The fans were right, to say the least as despite the loss, Poole dropped 38 points and took the initiative for his team. The team even managed to have the upper hand in the first half, but the Warriors took charge in the second and won the game. Green had to leave early due to a calf injury after only playing three minutes.
