LeBron James has garnered a lot of respect for the way he has portrayed his relationship with wife Savannah James and his children. At the same time, he has recently come under criticism for ditching his close friend, rapper Drake.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar had a long-standing friendship with Drake. The relationship was deep enough that James featured in some of his top concerts, sharing the stage at times. However, the recent rap beef with Kendrick Lamar changed all that.
Lamar accused Drake of being a ‘pedophile’ in his diss track ‘Family Matters’. Since then, James has sided with the Los Angeles based rapper and on multiple occasions vibed to Lamar’s songs. This drew criticism from some corners with podcaster DJ Akademiks joining in to say.
This was part of a rant on his podcast Akademiks TV, when the Jamaican podcaster suggested LeBron James has been unfaithful to his wife. On top of that, after cheating on night-outs with Drake, DJ Akademiks found it weird that James then ditched his friend just because another rapper called him a ‘pedophile’.

The cheating allegations have come about in the past with social media personality YesJulz. However, YesJulz herself came out and cleared the air and revealed she had an intimate time with James’ friend. The DJ Akademiks claim though is unsubstantiated as he has been known to bring out wild claims before.
LeBron James facing diss from Drake in new song
However, DJ Akademiks did point to what Drake was referring to in the leaked version of his new track ‘Fighting Irish Freestyle’. Many have linked the name of the song to LeBron James’ high school, Saint Vincent-Saint Mary, whose monicker is ‘Fighting Irish’.
Fans believe the track’s lyrics shows the Canadian rapper is hurt and about to reveal what James was up to. However, since the track has not been released completely, those links are yet to be proven. But it seems the discourse surrounding how the four-time NBA MVP distanced himself from Drake is picking up steam.
Former Lakers star Nick Young was the latest to call out James. Even though he is Kendrick Lamar’s cousin, he could not digest the fact that the Akron native switched sides that easily. He questioned LeBron James’ loyalty and linked it to how he has switched teams in his career.
