In the third quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 104-89 victory over Orlando Magic on Thursday, Anthony Edwards took off. During the game, he landed and produced another highlight-reel throw-down that will look good on any compilation of dunks Edwards has ever made.
After taking off in the paint, Edwards slammed a poster dunk over Anthony Black of the Orlando team. To put the Wolves ahead 68-58, Edwards quickly drew a foul on Black after the throwdown and made the subsequent free throw. Like other of Edwards’ career dunks, like the one in which he posterized John Collins in Utah a year ago, it gave his teammates a boost of adrenaline.

As for the game, the Wolves went from leading by seven points to defeating the inept Magic, who were without several important players. This included Minnehaha Academy graduate Jalen Suggs and franchise player Paolo Banchero. Anthony Edwards contributed 21 points and seven assists, while Julius Randle finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
In addition, Rudy Gobert contributed 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Wolves, while Naz Reid scored 16 points after coming off the bench.
On the other hand, the Magic side was led by Goga Bitadze, who finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope contributed 13 points. The Magic, who shot 38% and are currently the lowest-scoring club in the NBA at 104.8 points per game, are still struggling with a lack of offensive punch.

In addition, Edwards opened up on his dunk after the game. Even though the dunk went viral online, Edwards doesn’t think it mattered because Black is a fellow guard, despite his 6-foot-7 stature.
Up next, the Magic host Milwaukee on Friday, and the Timberwolves host Memphis on Saturday in their upcoming fixtures.
