Anthony Edwards keeps reminding the fans that he is not the polar opposite of his character ‘Kermit Wilts’ in ‘Hustle’. The Minnesota Timberwolves guard never shies away from talking trash to his opponents, even from the bench. Hence, it is not surprising that Ant-Man got into it with his fellow number-one draft pick Zion Williamson.
The duo trash-talked each other during Zion Williamson‘s highly anticipated return to the court since last November. An audio leaked of Anthony Edwards provoking Williamson from the sidelines after a foul was called on him while guarding Julius Randle. The Pelicans forward was not amused at all. “That sh*t is soft as f*ck”, Zion Williamson was heard saying.
Despite receiving the disrespect, Edwards looked like he was having fun. The star kept repeating “foul” even after the play was over and was seen smiling on the bench. Ant-Man kept it going on as soon as he realized that he pissed Williamson off.

The fans found the exchange hilarious, especially after seeing its effect on Williamson. The trash-talk worked in Edwards’ favor as the guard dropped 32 and took his team to a consecutive win. Williamson also had his fair share of good moments with a dunk, but his 22-point outing was not enough.
Zion Williamson named Anthony Edwards ‘craziest trash-talker’
Ant-Man has previously shown that his trash talk is only limited to the court. This seems to be true as, despite the exchanged words, Edwards praised Williamson’s performance right after the game. Edwards called him ‘strong’ and even admitted that Williamson was ‘dominating’ the game.
The Pelicans star is also not behind as he showed ‘hooper to hooper’ respect to Edwards a couple of years ago. But regardless of the game, Edwards was the first player mentioned by Williamson while listing the ‘craziest trash-talkers’ for overtime. “Different styles of trash-talking, like you have Ant. Ant talks trash kinda directly,” Zion Williamson admitted.

The duo’s give and take was exactly what the fans needed for Williamson’s return. Considering the pair’s incredible talent, their on-court rivalry certainly has the potential to grow in the future as they are widely perceived as the ‘future faces of the league‘.
