The UFC roster is filled with entertaining and unique personalities, and one standout is the undefeated UFC lightweight fighter Paddy ’The Baddy’ Pimblett. Interestingly, Pimblett is known for his distinctive braided hairstyle during his fights. Recently, the Scouser reacted when he saw heavyweight veteran Alexander Volkov sporting a similar look.
Paddy Pimblett posted a video on his YouTube channel where he delved into multiple intriguing topics while training. Interestingly, among the many discussions, the Scouser also seemingly reacted to Alexander Volkov’s recent fight outing. The Russian fighter donned a braided look in his fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 310 which Pimblett found quite hilarious.
Pimblett also mentioned that he would look like the braided-haired Volkov after the next ten years of his life. Interestingly, the Scouser is arguably one of the most popular fighters on the current UFC roster. Since making his promotional debut, Pimblett has been an unstoppable force in the UFC and remains undefeated. He is coming off an impressive win against Bobby ’King’ Green in his last fight.
Given his popularity in the promotion, Pimblett wasn’t surprised to see Volkov sporting a similar braided hairstyle. However, unlike the Scouser, the Russian fighter couldn’t deliver a performance akin to Pimblett’s. As a result, Volkov fell short against Gane at UFC 310, losing by a controversial split decision. Interestingly, the Russian heavyweight was unhappy with the judges’ scorecards.
When Alexander Volkov lashed out at the judges of his UFC 310 fight
Alexander Volkov made his promotional debut almost a decade ago in 2016. Since then, however, he has never found himself in contention for a title fight in the promotion. Before facing Ciryl Gane at UFC 310, the Russian fighter was on an impressive four-fight winning streak. As a result, the match against Gane was significant for Volkov, as it could have brought him closer to the heavyweight championship.
Despite his expectations, Volkov’s rematch against Gane did not go as he had hoped. Consequently, the Russian fighter lost to the Frenchman in both of their encounters. Interestingly, since their rematch was a closely contested match, Volkov made scathing remarks about the judges and the authorities for denying him what he believed was a well-deserved victory over Gane.
Interestingly, UFC CEO Dana White believed that Volkov won the fight at UFC 310 and even apologized to him for the outcome. While the Russian fighter was frustrated with the judges’ decision, he did not harbor any bitterness toward his opponent. In fact, Volkov appreciated how Gane gracefully tried to exit the cage after the announcement of the results.
