2024 hasn’t been a great year for Tyson fury. The ‘Gypsy King’ found himself losing his world title, undefeated record, and amassing two losses all in the same year. His two outings on the losing end against Oleksandr Usyk have left him with little options. Fury’s pathway to world title won’t be an easy one after the recent losing skid. This leaves the door open for a possible Francis Ngannou rematch.

The 38-year-old MMA star has enjoyed his foray into the world of boxing against elite fighters. Much like Fury, Ngannou is also on a losing skid, which has prompted him to extend a callout. The ‘Predator’ in both instances picked Fury to beat Usyk, which unfortunately didn’t materialize. Now, the former UFC star aims to book another boxing match with Tyson Fury.

What I wanna see now is Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. That’s all what matters for me.

In two boxing outing, Ngannou pulled in $30 million dwarfing his MMA earnings. Ngannou was spotted among the crowd in Fury vs. Usyk 2 rematch alongside Hollywood star Jason Statham. Ngannou’s successful outing in PFL has left him with an itch to correct boxing errors, leaving the door open for many options.

One potential fight includes a special two-fight deal with Deontay Wilder. The American boxer has been in talks for a potential fight since 2023. He is even willing to take up MMA to make it possible. However, the ‘Predator’ quickly shut him down and offered to fight in boxing instead. With possible options, Ngannou will likely announce his next fight in the new year.

Francis Ngannou slams AI and judges for unfair scoring in Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk bout

Ngannou has been firmly backing his former foe Tyson Fury in his 2024 outings. But sadly, the British boxer failed to live to the expectations, suffering two losses. This time around, the bout featured a special AI judge that has never been seen in combat sports before. Reacting to the scorecard and AI, Ngannou gave his honest take.

The official scorecard favored Usyk 116-112, while the AI judge saw it differently with 118-112 scorecard for the same. Ngannou wholeheartedly dismissed the introduction of AI, critiquing its inability to grasp the sport. The Cameroonian star scored the fight a lot closer than AI or judges saw it this weekend.

AI might be intelligent, but AI don’t understand the sport properly, you know? It’s a man’s sport, it’s not a machine sport. I think AI is still, regardless of everything, it’s still a machine that operate automatically and score based on some…. I don’t think AI has all the specifics or the data to score a boxing match today… It’s still a trial. We can’t take that for credit.

Ngannou’s first outing with Fury was way closer than most anticipated, which saw the Brit win via a split decision. Now, with both men a facing bad patch in their boxing careers, the supposed rematch can be booked for 2025. Fury is unsure about his future in the sport of boxing following the second loss to Usyk. Perhaps one last hurrah against Ngannou can serve as a perfect retirement match.
