The Irish MMA star has experienced major turmoil in his personal life following the past month’s verdict on a s*xual assault scandal. Conor McGregor’s legal woes hasn’t come to a close just yet, as the MMA fighter is set to enter the legal fray once more against his former best friend Artem Lobov. These out of competition issues and backlash from the recent civil case has hampered his image in the public domain. However, the UFC legend doesn’t feel, fans can just count him out yet.
UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier spoke about the ongoing Conor McGregor’s saga with India’s wealthiest family. Cormier feels the starpower and impact of ‘Notorious’ hasn’t taken a hit despite the backlash. McGregor can still look to rebuild his name, but taking the exhibition route against Logan Paul won’t help him at all. Speaking with MMA Junkie, Cormier pondered on McGregor’s available option and what he should do next.
McGregor’s impact on the sport of MMA is unmatched despite years of inactivity. Cormier firmly believes fighting Paul brother’s won’t help him as the duo might use the past year’s negatives to antagonize the star. McGregor made a name for himself with his excellent mental warfare, defeating opponents before the fight. The Irish star called for WWE vs UFC type clash with Logan Paul, once more embroiling India’s billionaire family into it.
McGregor’s return to UFC has been pushed once before citing the injury bug. Now, with the recent developments, Dana White’s claims of seeing ‘Notorious’ returning in the final quarter of 2025 seems more likely. Probing McGregor’s links with the Ambani family, ace journalist Ariel Helwani also seems to have uncovered some answers.
Ariel Helwani offers update on UFC icon Conor McGregor vs. Logan Paul match-up
Taking note of the bizarre nature of the post, Helwani quickly began to dive into the claims made. McGregor’s connection with India’s wealthiest family and beef with Paul brothers, culminating in a super fight, just felt surreal for fans. Helwani offered an update on his podcast to debunk the claims and dig out the truth.
Helwani believes there is some truth to the claims made by the UFC star as opposed to common belief. The 42-year-old journalist reiterated that he wishes to see the Irish stars return to MMA instead of the boxing ring. Helwani claims the idea is indeed floating around, but no negotiation has taken place yet.

Notably, McGregor’s long absence from UFC has seen him knocked out of rankings completely. The former two division champion will have a tall task ahead of him to mark his return. A potential rebooking against number 7th ranked Michael Chandler could serve as a perfect return fight. However, the final decision lies in the hands of UFC brass, who aren’t expecting his return until late 2025.
