The Minnesota Timberwolves recently played against the New York Knicks on home court in the NBA. A Timberwolves home game meant the homecoming of the former Wolves and current Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns. Also, former Knick player Julius Randle played against his side for the first time in different colors this season.
Notably, it was KAT who got his sweet revenge on his former side. The New York Knicks defeated the Timberwolves 133-107 on Thursday night in Minneapolis thanks to a dominant return to Minnesota, where Karl-Anthony Towns scored 32 points and pulled down 20 rebounds. Towns sank all five of his 3-point attempts and made 10 of his 12 field goals.
New York moved to 2-0 on its three-game road trip, with a final scheduled for Saturday in New Orleans, thanks to his six assists and two steals. During pregame introductions, the Timberwolves displayed a video tribute to Towns on the scoreboard.
Following the film, which featured highlights from Towns’ nine seasons in Minnesota, fans gave him a thunderous standing ovation. This showcases the Wolves franchise love for their former star despite trading him in a shock deal during the summer.

As for the Timberwolves, they suffered their first home loss since November 27. A gritty effort of 24 points from Julius Randle on 8-for-17 shooting went in vain. Anthony Edwards ended with a team-high seven assists and 17 points on 7-for-16 shooting. The Timberwolves are now (14-12) in the NBA and are 8th in the Western Conference standings.
Anthony Edwards ‘happy’ for former teammate Karl-Anthony Towns despite loss
The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a rare home-court loss against the New York Knicks this season. It was all thanks to Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns’ 32 points against his former side which helped them secure the win. Notably, KAT’s former teammate Anthony Edwards was left disappointed with his side’s loss but was ‘happy’ for the Knicks star.

Edwards and KAT share a great brotherly bond on and off the pitch. During the preseason, both stars even swapped jerseys which led to a wholesome moment between the two players.
Karl-Anthony Towns is a fantastic win-now asset for the Knicks even though his four-year, $220.4 million supermax contract would restrict the team’s financial options until 2028. However, it is worth the risk to invest in him as the hopefully winning final piece to complete a superb Knicks lineup led by Jalen Brunson.
