The top two contenders for the NBA Cup clashed in Las Vegas for the in-season tournament trophy and the $500k prize. Each player on the winning team will receive the $500K prize. Reporters, driven by their inquisitive nature, have snooped around. They asked key players on both teams what they plan to do with the extra half-a-million-dollar cash prize. Damian Lillard may have a unique idea on what to do with it.
$500k is a considerable amount of money that can brighten anyone’s day. Milwaukee Bucks’ point guard Damian Lillard shared what he plans to do if his team wins. Sticking to the holiday theme, Lillard revealed that he intends to help out the team’s staff. This includes the supporting and training personnel—a gesture to recognize all the work they put in.
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo also shared a same sentiment. In the spirit of giving back, the Greek superstar talked about how $500k is a lot of money, for him. However, even at this stage of his career, he isn’t playing for financial gains.
“When I get it, I ain’t gonna just blow it or go crazy. … [I’ll give it] to the support staff, our training staff… do something to support them.”

The $500k will not come right away. After all, Austin Reaves complained about the Los Angeles Lakers not receiving the prize money in time. As such, it remains to be seen if the Bucks and Lillard get the prize money in time to possibly give it as a Christmas present. Nevertheless, the Bucks have plenty to be thankful for at the moment.
