Lewis Hamilton admits Mercedes has got a 'lot of work to do' after Canadian GP podium, but is delighted to share the stage with 'two World Champions'

The following paragraph discusses the importance of physical exercise and why it should be incorporated into our daily routine. Physical exercise is one of the most effective ways to maintain good health and well-being. It not only helps in keeping our body fit but also plays a crucial role in keeping our mind sharp and active. Regular exercise has been proven to have numerous benefits, including reducing the risk of chronic diseases, improving sleep quality, and boosting our mood and energy levels. In this paragraph, we will delve deeper into the benefits of physical exercise and why it should be an integral part of our daily routine.

Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes Formula 1 driver, has made it known that he just lacked the pace to challenge for the win at the Canadian GP. He feels that the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit has never been strong for Mercedes and is just grateful that he could land his W14 in the podium places at the end of the race.

The Canadian GP got off to an extremely promising start for Lewis Hamilton, where he got the better of Alonso going into Turn 1; however, as the race settled down, the AMR23 proved a bit faster and more efficient than the W14. Max Verstappen was out of Hamiltonโ€™s reach from the beginning of the race.

Lewis Hamilton thinks Mercedes maximized its race in Canada, and while stressing about it during the post-race interviews, he said, โ€œItโ€™s honestly been a great weekend for us. Weโ€™re slowly chipping away. The Astons took a little step ahead with their upgrades but weโ€™re hoping to bring a little more moving forwards. But to have this consistency in Montreal, such an incredible city, with such a great crowd every year here without fail, I just want to thank everyone here.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s an honor to be up there with two world champions. Unfortunately, we didnโ€™t have the pace today. We knew this wouldnโ€™t be our strongest circuit because we struggle in the lower-speed corners. Thatโ€™s really where I was losing to Fernando and to Max. Weโ€™ve got a lot of work to do to add rear downforce and more efficiency. But weโ€™re chipping away and I do believe weโ€™ll get there. Weโ€™re moving in the right direction.โ€

Max Verstappen and Co. have been incredibly dominant in the 2023 F1 season. Still, as the number of races is going down, Mercedes is continuously improving, and an example of it was seen during the recently concluded race. The Brackley-based team is slowly but surely catching up to Red Bull.

As things stand, the Austrian outfit has amassed 321 points in the Constructors Championship and is pretty much out of the reach of the chasing pack. However, from a Mercedes point of view, the ongoing campaign is all about improving as much as possible and getting as close as possible to the Christian Horner-led team.

Mercedes is currently second in the Championship with 167 points on the board, and their completion is with Aston Martin and the Maranello-based Ferrari F1 team. On the back of Lewis Hamiltonโ€™s performance in Canada, do you think Mercedes would be able to stay in second?
