The Boston Celtics have had one of the fairy tale NBA campaigns during the past NBA season. They won the NBA 2024 title in style after defeating the Dallas Mavericks in the finals. Most recently, the Celtics and their star, Jayson Tatum, visited the White House to meet President Joe Biden as NBA champions. The custom of championship teams meeting with the US President continued with this visit.
On November 20, the Celtics traveled to Washington, DC, and the following day, they celebrated in the White House. Jayson Tatum said he was thrilled about the event and acknowledged its importance as a custom of the championship. He also stated that he was โawestruckโ by visiting the White House as it is not usual for anyone to do so.
As he welcomed the Celtics to the South Lawn, President Joe Biden referred to them as one of the NBAโs strongest teams and commended their accomplishments. In honor of his presidency, the players gave Biden a customized jersey bearing the number 46. Additionally, Kamala Harris, the vice president, and her spouse were given their own jerseys.

Aside from this, the Celtics have made a promising start in a bid to defend their 2024 NBA title. They are on a (12-3) run in the East and sits second on the table. The Celtics will aim to become the first team since the Golden State Warriors in 2018 to win consecutive titles in the 2024โ25 season. Only time will tell if they can achieve it.

President Joe Biden turned the White House green on Thursday. This was when he invited coach Joe Mazzulla and the Boston Celtics to the South Lawn to commemorate the teamโs historic 18th NBA title. Biden gave the Celtics their flowers for a commendable season, winning 64 games throughout the 2023-24 campaign.

A band played โShipping up to Bostonโ to welcome the Celtics.ย In addition,ย Biden and team owner Wyc Grousbeck accompanied them on the stairs facing the Washington Monument.ย This was a memory that will always stay with the Celtics squad for the rest of their lives. It now remains to be seen how they perform going forward into the 2024-25 NBA season.
