Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden is currently making rounds on the internet after recording an incredible feat lately. On Sunday night, against the Utah Jazz, the Los Angeles Clippers star made his 2,974th three-pointer of his career. This put an end to a tie with Basketball Hall of Famer Ray Allen for the second-best ranking in NBA history.
With this, Harden is now 2nd in the NBA All-time three-pointers, trailing the Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry. Notably, Harden’s former teammate and NBA great Kevin Durant chimed in on this incredible feat. Durant congratulated the former MVP with a ‘special message’ as posted by the Clippers’ social media team on X.
With 6:09 remaining in the first quarter against the Utah Jazz, Harden made history by making a right-wing basket. With 3,782 three-pointers, Curry is the only player on the list who is ahead of Harden. Interestingly, Allen’s 2,973 three-pointers took 1,300 games to make. However, after just 1,086 games, Harden overtook him.

Only three players in NBA history have made 300 three-pointers in a single season, including Harden. He earned 378 in 2018–19; the other players on that list are Klay Thompson (301 in 2022–23) and Curry (five times, including an NBA record 402 in 2015–16). These stars have made a huge impact on the way the game is supposed to be played, bringing a new dynamic to the league with their three-point shooting.
James Harden leaving Brooklyn Nets super team angered Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant and James Harden joined forces with another star Kyrie Irving at the Brooklyn Nets. Harden, Irving, and Durant had the makings of one of the most formidable “big threes” in NBA history, but it fell apart before it seemed like anything had started.
For context, Harden was the first to leave the Nets as he requested a trade from the franchise. This led to both Durant and Irving leaving the franchise after Harden’s departure. However, Durant opened up on this after joining the Phoenix Suns and playing against Harden’s Los Angeles Clippers side.
Kevin Durant on James Harden and his departure from Brooklyn:
“No doubt that I was pissed about the situation. I’m sure he was pissed about having to move teams again. When the smoke clears, you realize that’s somebody you came into the league with, somebody I really, really… pic.twitter.com/mt78ydrgpP

Following three seasons as teammates with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant and Harden played together for the second time during their stint with the Nets. However, it seems like all three stars have settled in their respective teams now. Now, Durant plays for the Suns, Harden at the LA Clippers, and Irving at the Dallas Mavericks.
