Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler are ready to scrap once again in a rematch at UFC 309. The hype surrounding this clash would have a lot to do with their first outing back in 2021 for the undisputed lightweight gold. Now, three years removed from the match-up, both fighters need a win to advance their title aspirations.

Fans who are expecting to witness firework, surely won’t be disappointed, as Michael Chandler promised to steal the show. The American fighter blamed his first loss to ‘Do Bronx’ onto octagon jitters as opposed to a skill disparity. Owing to his mistake from the loss and after amassing more UFC experience, Chandler is ready to drag the fight into deep waters and make his rival quit.

Once a quitter, always a quitter, that little quitter is still inside of him. But I think it is pushed way down. We all got a quitter inside of us… we all got it. It just gotta be brought out. Maybe I can do it on Saturday, or maybe I can’t.

Despite waiting on the sidelines for so long, the American MMA fighter doesn’t have any regrets. He is looking to lift a bizarre MSG curse by making a statement.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani, he touched upon three story line defeats on the grounds of MSG and it being a curse. Chandler’s MSG jinx seems to be a real deal, as it was brought to his attention by a fan. The mixed martial artist calls it destiny and hopes to use as fuel to bounce back and break the curse.

I’m defeated at MSG, 0-3. I actually just ran into a dude who had been to all three of my fights at MSG and he’s like ‘Hey dude, we’re going to break the MSG Curse.

The two long layoff does not seemed to have bothered the 38-year-old fighter at all. He revealed being on a brutal non-stop schedule ever since he jumped ship to UFC. Now, coming off the couch, Chandler feels motivated to cross off one of his losses heading into the UFC 309.
