Michael Page believes Sharaputdin Magomedov is no challenge for him

Dagestanโ€™s break-out star Sharaputdin Magomedov has fought three times this year. The 30-year-old superstar broke into the promotion in 2022 and has been making a name for himself ever since. However, his shining star has caught the eye of one Michael โ€˜Venomโ€™ Page in the UFC. The British striker wants to fight the one-eyed UFC star at middleweight in a potentially exciting bout.

He has two blistering KOs to his name and one of the most creative double-back fist knockouts. Sharaputdin Magomedovย called outย Israel Adesanyaย for a dream match-up but also managed to intrigue another fighter in the UFC roster. Responding to the Shara Bulletโ€™s call out, Michael Page put his name forward to face the Dagestani striker. Now, the Dagestani fighter sent out a chilling warning.

Heโ€™s more relaxed. For him, it is more about going out there and having a dance. I donโ€™t think I will throw away my game plan. Heโ€™s the one who will find himself on the canvas. So Iโ€™ll have to ground and pound him a bit.

Magomedov also touched upon facing other challengers in the division apart from Israel Adesanya. Dagestani native stated he would also like to take on Paulo Costa in the future. He feels the tide is now shifting in his favor in terms of popularity. It started from being a rather unknown name in the division to being called out by the top dogs.

Shara Bullet is open to all challenges. A ranked opponent seems more likely for the Dagestani fighter in 2025. Page has fought twice in the promotion. He faced Kevin Holland in his debut and lost to Ian Garry at UFC 303. Despite his last outing not going his way, Page still seems confident he can outdo everyone in terms of striking.

Michael Page doesnโ€™t feel Sharaputdin Magomedov poses a threat in terms of striking

Page wants to face the whoโ€™s who of both the welterweight and middleweight divisions. His call out of Sharaputdin Magomedov certainly proves his motive to end his career on a high note. The 37-year-old star spent the majority of his career outside of UFC. Finally, after all this time, he has got the chance to test his skills against the top dogs of the promotion.

Regardless of Magomedov earning one of the most creative KOโ€™s in UFC history, Page still believes he could beat him. Speaking with Ariel Helwani, the British striker went as far as to suggest that his style would turn the Dagestani into a panic wrestler.

When it comes to striking, I just fear nobody. And like I said, the likeliness is, I bet, I get him to try to take me down. Heโ€™s gonna get panicky in some way, shape or form. I bet Iโ€™ll get him to try to take me down.

Firing back at Page, Shara Bullet seems okay with staying on feet with Page. Right now, Magomedov has managed to break into the top 15 of the UFC ranking with four impressive wins. He is just a few fights away from fighting for the world title, but looks like Israel Adesanya has no interest in this challenge. This could leave the door open for an exciting bout with Page somewhere in 2025.
