“Does it hurl fire or is it haunted?” Shahid Afridi slams PCB’s unwillingness to play at Ahmedabad

The blockbuster clash between India and Pakistan during the 2023 ODI cricket world is reportedly to be scheduled at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. PCB chief Najam Sethi however did not reacted to the news in an approving fashion and Shahid Afridi did not take that well.He said, “When I heard that the Pakistan match was to be in Ahmedabad, I smiled and said to myself – ‘this is one way to make sure we don’t come to India’. I mean if you’d said Chennai or Kolkata, it might have made sense.”

Shahid Afridi was perplexed by PCB’s unwillingness towards playing at the Motera stadium, he questioned it saying, “Why are they declining to play on Ahmedabad pitches? Does it hurl fire or is it haunted?”

Urging them to let the Pakistan Team go ahead and play he said, “Go and play-go, play and win. If these are the foreseen challenges, then the only way to overcome them is through a comprehensive victory. What matters at the end of the day is Pakistan team’s win.”

Shahid Afridi wants the team to take this as a positive chance to beat India in front of their massive home ground instead of making excuses. “The crux only and only lies in there. Take this rather positively. If they (India) are comfortable there, you should go, pull a victory in front of packed Indian crowd and show them what you got,” said Shahid Afridi.
