Numerous names have dominated the octagon in the UFC over the years. Khamzat Chimaev is arguably one of the most dominant fighters in the UFC today. As such, it has forced several prominent individuals in the community to praise Chimaev’s MMA prowess. The interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall recently chimed in to discuss it and even praised it.
Khamzat Chimaev’s last UFC outing was against former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. ‘Borz’ showed his grappling prowess as he brutally manhandled Whittaker. Interestingly, Tom Aspinall, who witnessed the impressiveness of Chimaev, couldn’t hold himself back from issuing praise. As such, in a recent interview, he showered praises on the Chechen native.
The interim heavyweight champion mentioned that Khamzat Chimaev’s dominant performance has inspired him. This motivation has encouraged Aspinall to enhance his fighting style. Like Chimaev, the British fighter is also pursuing UFC gold. In recent months, Aspinall has made several callouts to the reigning UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, seeking a unification bout.
🫡Tom Aspinall says he’s inspired by Khamzat Chimaev’s dominance and believes Khamzat will be champion:
“The guy is absolutely incredible. To do that to Robert Whittaker, honestly it just inspires me to be better because you go in and dominate a former champion like that..

Despite the Brit clearly expressing his desire to compete for the UFC title, Jones has consistently overlooked Aspinall’s challenges. On the other hand, Chimaev has positioned himself as a contender for a title fight following his victory over Whittaker. Like Aspinall, many other prominent figures in the UFC community have also praised Chimaev for his dominant win at UFC 308.

Khamzat Chimaev has consistently delivered dominant performances. He remains undefeated with an eight-fight win streak in the promotion. Chimaev’s recent notable victories include two former UFC champions, Robert Whittaker and Kamaru Usman. The manner in which he defeated Whittaker shocked many, including top MMA coach Javier Mendez.
Mendez is the coach of the reigning lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev. He is well-acquainted with the wrestling and grappling skills of the fighters in the promotion. During an interview, Mendez recently discussed how Chimaev unexpectedly broke Whittaker’s jaw, which caught everyone off guard. While discussing that, he seemingly praised Borz’s exquisite grappling prowess.
Like many others in the community, Mendez initially speculated that Whittaker had suffered a broken jaw. However, that turned out not to be the case. Later, Whittaker clarified that he did not have a jaw fracture. Instead, the force with which Chimaev attempted to choke Whittaker pushed his teeth backward, causing intense pain. Ultimately, this led the former champion to submit to the Chechen fighter.
