A promise is a promise kept. Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election, as he assured he would. The three-time Republican candidate and post-election GOP Nominee vowed to make the country great again. Another promise he floated out there was to attend the UFC 309 pay-per-view (PPV) event title headliner this month. It marks the return of one Jon Jones.

Attending the upcoming UFC 309: โ€œJones vs. Miocicโ€ pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza was hinging on his ability to win the 2024 presidential election. Now that Trump has swiped out Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, he can โ€œgo as presidentโ€ on November 16. Funnily enough, itโ€™s not a vow he made, glazing Jones. He had Bo Nickal in mind during his pre-election โ€œExperience.โ€

You know Bo Nickal? โ€ฆHeโ€™s a great fighter, โ€ฆHowโ€™s he going to do? I think heโ€™s terrific. He was like, โ€ฆalmost undefeated in college. [On attending UFC 309 and seeing him] Ooooh, thatโ€™s gonna be after the election, So Iโ€™ll either go as President or Iโ€™ll be depressed and I wonโ€™t bother going.

UFC 309 sees a heavyweight title fight between current 265-pound champion โ€œBonesโ€ and former titleholder Stipe Miocic. Elsewhere on the card, Nickal returns to face veteran middleweight Paul Craig. The 2020 US Olympic Team Trials finalist and three-time NCAA Division I national champion is in a league of his own. So itโ€™s only natural that Trump would take a liking to the freestyle and folk wrestling prodigy.

This wouldnโ€™t be the first wrestle-heavy talent Trump would have taken a liking to. The King and his Kingsmen at UFC also tow similar lines of sentiment about Jones himself. Now with the fighter making a hyped-up maiden defense of the gold at the pay-per-view (PPV) top bill, Trump will surely visit. Given that itโ€™d be one of his earliest crowd outings post-selection, he definitely will. Another standing ovation? Itโ€™s Trump at the UFC, so why not?

First-time voter Jon Jones inks his thoughts before election

Jon Jones is one of the most active fighters; no, not in the ring! On X-spaces, other chatboards, and public forums of thoughts. Other than funnyman Paulo Costa and the likes of Aljamain Sterling, โ€˜Bonesโ€™ maintains a healthy dose of conversation with fans. However, most of it is how the โ€˜absolute best Pound-for-Poundโ€™ doesnโ€™t need to bend a knee to unification claims.

For a fresh change of pace, after โ€˜JREโ€™ Show #2219, Jones logged in an appreciation for Donald Trump and Joe Rogan. Rogan is understandable; thereโ€™s a certain nostalgia with the micsman being the last to interview him at UFC 385 before his incumbent reign. He logged his poll for the GOP Nominee, pre-election, and thanked the duo for a call-up on the podcast.

Just voted for the first time, and Iโ€™m feeling like a proud American! Huge thanks to Joe Rogan and Donald Trump for mentioning me in your last podcast. Honored to be considered one of the best fighters on the planet among such fierce competition. To all my fellow Americans, especially the young ones: get out there and vote! Itโ€™s your voice, your power โ€” letโ€™s use it!

Trump has been a staple at some of the top MMA events in recent years. That trend will expectedly continue with the UFC 309: โ€œJones vs. Miocicโ€ pay-per-view (PPV) card later this month at Madison Square Garden. Whether or not the two giants will keep cornering each other is a future tale. For now, itโ€™s to the final term and a possible swan song for both.
