Basically, everyone wants a piece of the Undisputed tag-team Champions. Ever since capturing the gold at WrestleMania 39, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn havenโt breathed easy. Being a single pair of tag-team champions in WWE, theyโre vulnerable to competitors from both brands viz. Raw & SmackDown. Last week on the red brand, the champs successfully defended their gold against Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser.
Just when they couldโve thought of treading slowly, theyโve got a new set of challengers. Last night on SmackDown, WWE held a No. 1 contenders tag-team Gauntlet match. Teams included The Brawling Brutes, The OC, Pretty Deadly, The LWO and The Street Profits. The Brutes turned out as the ultimate MVPs of that humper. However, they just couldnโt get the job done.
Pretty Deadly pinned Sheamus after planting The Celtic Warrior with a leg drop to his back. And just like that, the Tastiest Snacks earned themselves a career-altering opportunity. More importantly, their championship showdown against Owens & Zayn will happen on SmackDown in London.
Just 24 hours prior to Money in the Bank, Pretty Deadly got some bag. They can pull off an upset, especially with a homeland support in the United Kingdom. One way or the other, the talented Englishmen have a bright future ahead of them on the main-roster. The higher management is seemingly high on the talented duo of Elton Prince & Kit Wilson.
Whoโll face Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at SummerSlam?
If the Canadian besties overcome Pretty Deadly in London, they can further stress themselves. As seen over the past few weeks, Kevin Owensโ agitation have crossed the borders. Heโs completely fed up of wrong people showing up at the wrong time. Well, he sure as hell wonโt be elated to know whatโs coming in the future.
Per Boozer 666, a private WWE insider on Twitter, the imminent reunion of DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) is coming. Once they get along, Triple H is planning for his NXT favorites to leave their marks on the bigger territory too. Eventually, theyโre supposed to challenge Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens at SummerSlam.
That would be an ultimate dream match for many. So far, the Undisputed Tag-Team Champs havenโt seen worthy competition for themselves. Taking that into consideration, theyโre on tracks to feud with two of NXTโs greatest ever creations in the near future. Time will dictate how a rivalry between these two teams unfold.
