Max Verstappen admits to relishing Red Bull dominance though it's a dull experience for fans

The following paragraph discusses the importance of exercise in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise has numerous benefits for both physical and mental health, and it is essential to incorporate it into our daily routine to improve overall well-being.

Max Verstappen has acknowledged the fans’ frustration regarding his dominance and Red Bull in F1. The Dutch driver has been in impeccable form since the Miami Grand Prix, proceeding to win in Monaco and clinching his third Grand Slam in F1 at the recent Spanish GP. With Sergio Perez finishing fourth in Barcelona, Verstappen’s lead in the championship was further extended, reiterating his domination.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Verstappen said, “It’s nice sometimes to have good competition. I enjoyed 2021 but I also enjoyed the way 2022 went. Of course, at the beginning, we had some reliability issues, the car was a bit heavy but, at one point, the car was also really quite dominant to the end. For the sport in general, and I understand of course people get a bit bored if only one team is dominating – we have seen it with Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull in the past.”

He added, “I hope that more teams can get it together. Then at least that means that if you have an issue or can’t get the setup fully 100 per cent, there is another team who can win.” Red Bull won 17 of the last 18 Grand Prix, the only exception being Interlagos in 2022. They boast a 100% win rate this year, having won every race by a considerable margin.

Red Bull looks like the favorite to take home both titles yet again, incurring a repeat of the 2022 season. Max Verstappen seems to be improving each weekend, exhibiting his supremacy, as he did in Spain.

Despite being on course to win his third drivers’ title on the go, Max Verstappen has begrudgingly admitted that despite his ongoing domination, Lewis Hamilton’s record will be tough to beat. If Verstappen emerges victorious in the Canadian GP, he will equal Ayrton Senna’s record of 41 F1 wins. However, he will remain 62 wins behind Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen reluctantly acknowledged the formidable challenge of surpassing Hamilton’s tally of 103 wins.

The uncertainty of the future and the unpredictability of having a championship-winning car every season adds to the difficulty of achieving such a feat. Between 2014 and 2020, Lewis Hamilton secured six World Championships, solidifying his status as one of the most successful drivers in the sport’s history. Hamilton amassed 74 Grand Prix victories and clinched pole position 68 times.

He consistently showcased his skill and tenacity, accumulating 90 podium finishes and frequently battling for top positions each season. It will take Max Verstappen a long time to equal these records, should he seek to establish himself as the best driver ever. With a regulation change looming in three years, a reset could result at the end of his and Red Bull’s domination, as Mercedes did.
